Glenwood High School
OUR PREFERRED CHARITIES
Throughout the year, Key Club members are given the opportunity to volunteer in fundraisers and service projects that raise money and generate awareness for a handful of specific organizations. By participating in projects that benefit these organizations, our members are able to help others on a global scale.
Thirst Project

Since 2014, Key Club International has been partnering with Thirst project, a nonprofit organization that works to raise awareness of the global water crisis. In just 10 years, Thirst Project was able to raise over $10 million to build freshwater wells in developing communities that lack safe drinking water. Currently, Thirst Project's goal is to give the entire nation of Swaziland clean water.
Each year, Key Club members help by participating in Thirsty 30, a campaign between Key Club and Thirst Project to help raise money to build water projects.

UNICEF

In 1946, the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), formally known as the International Children's Emergency Fund was established by the United Nations to assist children and families devastated by World War II. At first, UNICEF was intended to be a temporary relief fund. However, it became a permanent part of the United Nations System in October 1953. Today, UNICEF works in over 190 countries and has partners all around the world to promote policies and expand access to services that protect children. The goal of UNICEF is to give children the best start to life so they can fulfil their potential.

In 2010, Kiwanis International and UNICEF partnered to start the Eliminate Project. Together, their goal is eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus, a deadly disease that threatens the lives of many newborns and mothers every day. Since 1994, Key Club members have participated in Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF every Halloween to help protect mothers and babies from this disease. Instead of collecting candy, Key Club members collect donations. Through Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF, Key Club has raised over $7 million.
